A little history of the Seine
The banks of the Seine in Paris are a UNESCO World Heritage Site: the river is the thread that ties the city’s history together, from the Louvre to the Eiffel Tower.
Below the Trocadéro, the Pont d’Iéna, built under Napoleon and opened in 1814, crosses the river straight to the foot of the tower. Along the quays on either side, the water, the bridges and the iron lace of the tower meet in one frame.
