Montmartre Elopement

A little history of Montmartre

Montmartre is the highest hill in Paris. At its summit stands the basilica of the Sacré-Cœur, built between 1875 and 1914 and consecrated in 1919, its white domes visible from across the city.

At the turn of the 20th century, the hill was the village of the artists: Renoir, Van Gogh and Picasso, who painted at the Bateau-Lavoir, all lived and worked on its slopes. The Moulin Rouge opened at its foot in 1889.

A Montmartre elopement in the village of the artists

Picture cobbled lanes winding up the hill, ivy on old walls, a painter’s square and, at the top, all of Paris at your feet. Montmartre is bohemian, playful and romantic, the Paris of films and dreams.

We plan Montmartre in the early morning, before the hill wakes up, and lead you through its hidden stairways and quiet corners to the views that make it unforgettable.
